Call to arms: help save the World Football Pages « Result #1 on May 19, 2003, 10:26am »
The most recent stunt pulled by the new Vancouver Whitecaps regime/babysitting service has been to pull Swangard concourse table privledges away from the World Football Pages (http://www3.telus.net/worldfootballpages/).
The WFP is our only truly local footie rag here in British Columbia, and it's the only paper that regularly gives publicity to the Whitecaps, VMSL, and other local amateur footie.
New Whitecaps Director of "Marketing" (read "head of silly half-time stunts") Rick Ramsbottom decided to inform the WFP that their free concourse access has been cut off, and that they must now pay a rental fee in order to have a table inside Swangard Stadium.
What a bloody joke! WFP is one of the best sources of free advertising the Whitecaps get, and yet naive Ramsbottom has the audacity to try and make a extra couple of bucks from trying to milk the WFP.
The brains behind the WFP, Chris, has sunk a personal fortune into the WFP ship, and as such, I feel that we owe this bloke something. We all whinge and whine how we wish footie could be better here in North America, and here's a bloke who's actually going something concrete to further the cause, donating a great of both his time and money. As such, I think that the least we could do is rally behind him regarding this issue of getting a free table in the Swangard concourse, regardless of whether we agree with what's written inside the WFP.
So, here's how you can help:
1.) email the Whitecaps (even if you live outside of British Columbia, which is the case for 99.5% of you on here)
Director of Sales and Marketing, Rick Ramsbottom - rramsbottom@whitecapssoccer.com Director of Soccer Operations, Bob Lenarduzzi - blenarduzzi@prowavesoccer.com President, Greg Kerfoot - gkerfoot@whitecapssoccer.com
2.) pass this message onto other footie supporters

Yeah, as far as I know the Eagles left last weekend and will be returning on the 28th or so. I'm sure they would be glad to know that even fans from other teams are praying for them! Between the impending war and that new pneumonia-like disease near where they are in Asia, I've been concerned for them. Your prayers will help, so thank you!

Greetings from just outside of Richmond. Some of you may know about my photos already, but for those who don't, my photos from last season are online here:
There are several albums with Eagles photos. Feel free to view the photos, share the URL, print photos for your own personal use, use photos for wallpaper/screensavers, etc. However, please respect my copyright and do NOT upload the photos themselves to message boards or web sites without checking with me first.

As long as you cheer for Charlotte, that sounds like a great idea.
I don't think my family is going to be in town on 6/21 if/when you guys make the trip down here (we'll be laying on the beach), but hopefully we will be able to make it up to Richmond for a game!

Hello there down in icy Charlotte. We may run down there to catch the Eagles when they play on TV. Richmond doesnt play that night so who knows. Hope everyone is doing well and staying warm through this (hopefully) last blast of winter.

The Eagles/Virginia Beach Mariners game on Aug. 15 will be televised live from Va. Beach on Fox Sports World. This is a great way to give the Eagles exposure and show the nation what they can do! It would also be amazing to get a group of Eagles fans in the stands for that game to show off the league's best fans!
